I-730 update: State Department processing your refugee relative's application.

Important Information Regarding Refugee Admissions

The U.S. government has temporarily suspended the processing of all refugee applications under the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP), effective January 20, 2025, following the issuance of Executive Order 14163. This includes processing for following-to-join refugee (FTJ-R) travel eligibility.

Individuals whose FTJ-R cases are with a U.S. embassy or consulate should contact that embassy or consulate directly for updates on their travel eligibility interviews and passport retrieval. Those whose cases are at the National Visa Center (NVC) should use the Public Inquiry Form on the NVC website.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will address questions from FTJ-R beneficiaries with unexpired boarding foils regarding entry into the United States. We will contact individuals with further updates on their cases as soon as possible.
