The Dangers of Counterfeit Goods
The importation of counterfeit goods is illegal and carries severe consequences. CBP has the authority to seize and destroy such items. Beyond trademark infringement, other violations include misclassification, false country-of-origin labeling, and safety hazards. The trade in counterfeit goods jeopardizes American businesses, jobs, and even national security.

CBP encourages consumers to be aware of the risks associated with purchasing counterfeit products. Individuals may face fines even if unknowingly involved.
